Menopause & Physiotherapy
Targeted techniques with gradual, consistent strengthening, all designed specifically for the menopausal body.
Menopause can feel like a betrayal of your own body. As a physiotherapist, I’ve seen countless women face the same struggles:
- Nagging joint pain and frozen shoulders
- Plantar fasciitis making every step painful
- Sleepless nights and relentless hot flushes
- Mood swings, brain fog, and unwanted weight gain
- Bladder issues and a bloated belly that sap your confidence
The worst part? Even those closest to you may not understand what you’re going through.
Menopause was supposed to bring freedom, but instead, it can feel like your body is working against you. Hormonal shifts cause:
- Decreased bone density, increasing injury risk
- Loss of muscle mass and unexplained aches
- Mood changes that affect your energy and relationships
But here’s the truth: while these changes are natural, suffering through them isn’t. That vibrant, active woman you used to be is still inside you. It’s time to rediscover her and navigate menopause as a journey of empowerment, not a battle.

Hi I’m Nicole Storm

It wasn’t until a close friend told me she was struggling with menopausal joint pain that I truly understood the depth of this challenge.
Once an avid gardener, she was sidelined by persistent shoulder pain. Watching her frustration grow as she gave up the activities she loved, I knew I had to dig deeper.
I immersed myself in research on menopause and its effects on the musculoskeletal system. I attended specialised workshops overseas, consulted with endocrinologists, and, most importantly, listened to the women in my clinic.
Their stories of feeling disconnected from their bodies and of losing confidence in their physical abilities became my driving force.
Through countless hours of research and hands-on work, a pattern emerged.
The women who saw the most improvement were those who followed a carefully tailored approach – one that combined targeted techniques with gradual, consistent strengthening, all designed specifically for the menopausal body.
